Default Portable Garage?

I was wondering if anyone here owned a portable garage. I live in Kansas and am looking for options for around $500 to store my car in. There is a small parking lot behind my house that I could put some sort of portable garage. I was just wondering what people do when they don't have a garage and want some sort of daily protection for their S2000. I figure it's a small car, so I won't need anything too large.

If you have a Costco near you go check and see if they have any of the four-sided canopy left. Only around $170 at my Costco!

I might do that, I was just hoping someone in here who doesn't have a garage could give me advice. I was also wondering how well a car cover would work vs. a portable garage. Do car covers tend to scratch a car if you take them off and on... on a daily basis?

I've found taking on/off a cover very tedious after a month. Plus in CA, you never know what the elements will give ya... heck just last week it was raining on a hot/humid afternoon! I was going to buy this portable garage this http://whiskey-rock.com/product/CP42211 for $299.

You'd want at least a carport to protect it from the sun.

I don't think there is a cheap solution. You just need to build a carport, and that won't be too cheap. Better than a hashed up S, though. Mine's been garaged (at home and work) all its life, and you can definately tell that it has.

Maybe not so bad if it's inside in a non-windy area. It's amazing how many swirl marks and scratches one windy day plus a car cover can make. One day was all it took to ruin the clear finish on one of my other cars some years ago. It then required machine polishing to restore.

If you go the route of car covers I suggest getting two covers. Get the OEM cover and put it on first. The OEM cover has an extremely soft inner liner that will not scratch the car. Get a weatherproof cover to put over the OEM cover. This will also prevent the scratching from the wind that Muz described.
I did this before I bought the house with a garage.

So has anyone owned a portable garage in here, or made/bought any type of outdoor protection for their car besides a car cover?
