is it possible to change oil without jacking up the car?

It's the only way I change the oil on my S2K. Able to get it done easily and better able to get the filter from above since it isn't lifted.

I replace the plug by hand from above and tighten by wrench from below.

I did the first oil change. I had to loosen the drain plug from the TOP, reaching down through the engine compartment. I think I needed 4" extension on the socket. It's a pain, but do-able.

cthree is right. I change my own oil on all of my cars. But at the shop I run, It only costs the customer $12.00 when they bring thier own parts. Is it worth getting all dirty for $12.00? I know it's the thrill of working on your own car, but if you find a trusted tech that will let you hang around & help/ watch it totaly worth it. Also what happens if you don't tighten the drian plug properly? or accidently double gasket the filter? It's their problem not yours.
