Default Possible for f22c to go back to ~9000 RPM?

With all the complaints about the f22c redlining at 8000 RPM, do you guys think it'll be possible (within 1-2 MY) that the f22c will go back to 9000 RPM from the factory?

IMHO, Honda seldom listens to consumer demands and that is unlikely to change.

I thought the '04 S2000 was a nice example of Honda listening to the consumer demands.

It is.

The F22C can not spin at 9,000 rpm's without some serious work. The piston speeds would be too high.

Completely agree. Though I really think the loss of 9K redline is a bad thing. Consumer demands were for more low-end torque. There you have it.

Actually, I thought the f22c was more of the result of "review magazine complaints" than "consumer complaints".

i think Honda is basically done with motor work on the s2000, they have achieved a goal of low end torque, and to do so they decided to out in a f22c motor. IMO, Honda will not just do the little changes to the s2000 that they did from MY00-03. and will keep putting little changes until either the s2000 is discontinued or they change the whole motor once again.. a possiblity of this is when hydrogen running vehicle come out, then every car maker will have to change the motor type.

the power peak of the f20c and the f22c are within a 100 rpms of each other, what we've lost in the f22c is a few hundred rpm worth of overrun. With the f22c making considerably more power at peak, I think that honda did a great thing with the 04. hence, me owning one.

I think that would be great if Honda brought back the 9k. It just might.... It would be trade in time if they did. Can you imagine? It'd probably be like a 10-20 hp increase.

My 2.2l made peak power at the rev limiter, 8200rpm. However, I doubt that you'll see a substantial increase in power beyond that, just like the f20c. I'd expect to see worse high RPM breathing, maybe honda killed the overrun because the car lost power even faster than the F20c does after 8300rpm. (like I said before, the f20c loses power very quickly after the power peak)

That said, it already makes 10-20 more than the f20c
