before you bring your car to service, you should always let them know that your fenders are very very delicate and that lifting the car up by hand to get it onto the lift is a very bad idea.
What?? Are you serious? The fenders aren't supposed to support the weight of the car or even a quarter of the car - even I know this lol

I noticed this on my drivers side yesterday....I thought it was a ding and thought nothing more.

This is so strange!! I will have to check my passenger side too now!

crap, I think I found one on my01 yesterday, on the passenger side... and I used the Ding King to get it out... pulled it out too far, and now it's sticking out. Tried to hammer it in (with the plastic pounding tool) and I think I might have made another ding. Could just be the ripple effect from the first dent removal though... I'll just have it professionally done

I have them on my '00. I have read places that it deals with putting the car on the lift. Depending on how the mechanic lifts the car will cause these dents. Can't remember specifically how this was caused

Will have to do some searches. All in all it deals with the lift.

This would not be a defect, would be mechanic negligence.....

I've only ever had my vehicle serviced by either a Honda dealer or myself. I know that I didn't lift it incorrectly, so do we have a beef with our dealerships?

The comments are most interesting. When I was in for my last oil change I did notice that two of the techs were "adjusting" the front of the car to square it on the lift by each grabing under a front fender openning. At the time I was not impressed with that technique but said nothing. When the service was completed I did not notice any marks there but I was more upset with the dirty foot prints on the door sill and carpet. When I got home and cleaned the car i noticed small dimples on the top of both front fenders at basically the same places on both sides. now i know the answer and I'm sure lifting or "adjusting" the vehicle by the fender wells is NOT AN APPROVED HONDA service technique. I will politely mention it to the owner this next week. Won't happen again. Thanks for the insight.
