Default Is it possible to replace the plastic window in the back with the new glass one?

I called a dealer up, and they didn't know if it was possible since they had never tried it. Anybody know if you could and a rough estimate on what it would cost?

There have been many, many threads on this subject. Do a search for "glass window", etc and see them. The bottom line is NO. But with enough money, anythings possible. The whole top must be replaced. You can't just put the window in. If at all possible, the cost may be rediculous.

at least $1000-1500. I've seen a website where they did it without changing the frame.

If you do a search you will find a thread showing it has been done. It was done in Japan and it includes photos. To my knowledge no one has done it yet in the States, as cost estimates have made it cost prohibitive. Many hope, including myself, that a reasonable cost option will become available.

We also hoped that the 2002 setup would work in our older cars but once again, cost estimates make it cost prohibitive.

Anybody could do it if you would be satisfied with a very narrow glass slit to see through.
