You always know what oil you're getting inside the engine if you do it yourself.

Only takes like 15 min...

It's likely that they'll tell you that "MOTO 5359393" is their part number for Synthetic. Make sure and bring both receipts.

2nd.. You are taking this car to a dealership correct? And they are charging that much?!?! My Honda dealership charges $26.00 for an oil change WITH Mobil.
$26? how is that possible...mobil 1 costs that much wal-mart, just by itself. ~$20 for 5 qts, ~$5 for the 6th. plus filter for $6-9.

for the OP, yeah as far as i know, you can go back and forth between syn and dino w/no problems. quite a few people have gone back to regular oil w/good results. i'm no expert though...just what i've noticed from other peoples' posts.

A case of mobil 1 syn 10w-30 is about $28 at costco.
Filter is about $7 from honda

$26 would be cheap yea.

$60-88? Definitely do it yourself, theres DIY with pictures I believe in UTH forum.

Mobil 1 has conventional oils that are significantly less expensive than their synthetic.

I know this is true for gear oil, but maybe not for motor oil...can someone chime in here?

EDIT: Your dealer is
A. Lying to you
or
B. Losing money on oil changes.

I could not find any conventional motor oils made by Mobil 1.

Project22, you're crackin' me up.

Mike, I think it used to be true, maybe 15 years ago, that you weren't supposed to switch back and forth with synthetic. I don't believe that's really true anymore (or certainly not something to worry about, anyway).

In any case, you are getting robbed, paying that much for an oil change. Do it yourself. It's a little messy, but Jeez you'd save yourself 60 bucks and have the satisfaction of doing it right.
