Why does it seem like everyone that has the basic bolt-ons are losing power or making only the power the car is rated at stock? Most people with bolt-ons usually make in the 220 whp range and most here are making in the 200 whp range.

From what I've found, most AP1's make 190ish whp on a dynojet and AP2's make ~197ish whp on a dynojet (stock).
No way a stock S2000 puts down 220whp unless you're on a dynapack dyno or something.
Also, there are many "correction" methods. My car dyno'd 205+whp uncorrected, but SAE corrected comes to 197.x whp (stock AP2).
Power isn't the only thing that makes you faster. My single exhaust (BC Spec III) saves me 40+ lbs of weight. I haven't dyno'd it yet, but so long as it doesn't lose power, it's still helping (to make me deaf... oh, and save weight).
Tuning can unlock power, but that's a pretty hefty investment for an AEM EMS + dyno tuning time ($2000+) for like 15whp.
I think the people who spend $1200+ for an exhaust or $800+ for an intake are doing it more for the bling.

My dyno was on a dynojet. If I had some kind of tuning unit (VAFC, emanage, ems) I could have easily hit 220+rwhp
invidia is just about the best hp producing dual made.

Too bad there's nothing for the 06 yet as far as the VAFC...

there will never be one, vafc cant do DBW, since it uses the TPS to tune. you have to hondata it, or you might be able to get emange to work on a 06+.
I know Hondata and AEM came out with stuff... but traction control is lost with them... there has to be a way to retain them while having tuning capabilities.Andre
No one has posted a stock dyno sheet so i figured i will. I've got a gutted airbox which i doubt gave me any gains. It was 80 degrees out and humid. Best was 209, 206 was with the ac on, and 208 with the airbox lid off.
I was wondering if we could have a sticky at the top of out FI dyno results?
If so, I will start with mine from today. Altitude= 2600 ft., Dynojet, 75 degrees, 32% humidity Three pulls, one in 3rd, one in 4th , and one in 5th.
2002 S2000
CT SC w/AC
Ricks header
Invidia test pipe
CT exhaust
4.77 gears
3rd gear: 291 HP
4th gear: 300.5 HP 181.5 lbs tq
5th gear: 295 HP
