Default Potential Owner Looking For Test Ride - Eastern PA

Hi everyone. By the time I graduate college I'll have $23,000 to my name and ready to purchase a sports car.

I've had a few 91 Mr2s and loved them, but they are rare and expensive these days, and I want a newer car.

The spyder is so-so to me. I hate the cheap looking interior, but the exterior is ok. Like the light weight and handling of it, and the mid-engine aspect. Went for a test ride with a spyder owner yesterday and enjoyed it.

Now, I've absolutely loved the S2000 for a long time and had my eyes on them. they're more expensive to service, insure, and buy, but it looks to be worth it. I've never rode in one, or driven one.

Any owners in the Stroudsburg or Allentown PA area? I'm half an hour from the border between PA and NJ, and Phillipsburg, NJ. I'm willing to travel if I can get a ride.

I'm looking at 2004+ models for purchase, but I'd like a ride in both styles 00-03 and 04+ to see which I'd like more.

I can be called at (570) 992-7953 or chmet@ptd.net.

Thanks!

Yes, there is one a half hour away from me. They have an 04 the last time I checked.

But I want to ride with an owner. That way, I get to spend more time with the car, see it driven the way it should be, and feel no hassle from a salesman.

I was thinking about doing that. At Spyderchat, surprisingly no one responded to my request in the regional forum. I just got an email later asking if anyone responded and that this guy offered to take me for a ride in his spyder. Everyone looks at the general forum, not many the regional forum, so my chances would be greater.

But yea, it would have made more sense otherwise.

Just curious but why does it say owner under your name?

I have no idea. I never claimed to be an owner when registering.

Anyway, can I get a volunteer? I really want to see this car for what it was made for.

I think that $23K will be a little anemic for an 04+ for the next few years unless you go with one with high mileage and some dents. Keep saving a little longer and you can have what you want.

Yea maybe, but I'm not buying anything until I get a real job after college either, and with this glorious high paying job market for college grads we live in, it may be a month or two anyway. I have college loans to pay off too. I have lots of job experience already though, so a few months is all it should take. Hopefully.

Once I land that job, I'll buy one because I'll have a steady income anyway.

But on topic, still waiting for a ride.

I'm getting no offers. Mods, can you please move this to the regional forum it belongs in?
