(I saw a thread about one guy not understanding why the back end got a little loose during a test drive when he tried to give it more gas going through a turn ).
Believe what you want, but giving it more gas can keep the car more stable through a turn than clutching in, braking, or even coasting

Good luck with your search.

Must be nice having your parents pay for things.

I'm in a unique position when it comes to finances. My parents are willing to pay for all necessities (including gas) because I'm a full time student with 4-6 hours of homework a night. They allow me to use the money I generate for whatever I choose. Also, I'm probably going to get a full scholarship to a local university (including a computer) so there's not much opportunity for me to build up credit. I've already done some loan calculations and everything checks out. I benefit from some obscenely low interest rates in my area. The local State Credit Union a mile down the street will do a Used 60 month loan with 5.75%!
you're a lucky mother****er, lol

im 21 and also a fulltime student and i i work 40 hour weeks so i can survive. i got a 75% scholarship for school and the only thing i get from my parents is a roof, which i am more than thankful for. i dont complain however, it makes everything you have that much more worth it.

What do you do, put a soggy piece of rubber over your car? I bet the car doesnt feel as fast with that on there.

since the absolute minimum sale prices for clear-titled running cars i've heard are neighborhood of $10k, you should be able to find a good condition AP1 for as low as ~$10-12k if you have a few months to patiently look. within reason, the more time you have to look before buying, the less you can expect to pay because you can wait for a really good deal on the car you want.

i'd try www.autotrader.com and www.cars.com and plan to drive a reasonable distance to get your car. what's reasonable is up to you--if you consider the travel as a risk and as a part of the price, you'll be in good shape. and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. whatever you look at, make sure it's got a clear title and hasn't been in any major (ie frame damage) accidents--carfax is a good way to check.

good luck, and congrats in advance!

I bought my S when I was 16, and it (along with all the aftermarket goodies) is now totally paid off by me as of three days ago, now 17, after just over a year of owning it.

I'm proud!
