gold powder coated AP1 wheels do not look good imo. black is the only way to go on oem ap1 wheels.

My track rain tires...

It's a very dark grey, but a color with a great deal of debth and complexity, the sunlight really makes these things come alive.

^ Powdercoating can range a lot from region to region. A killer price nowadays would be $50 per wheel, and the vendor might not have the best equipment. I paid $60 per wheel this past winter, but I get a volume discount... I think anywhere under say $75 per wheel is good when you are only doing 4.

The wheels always have to be sandblasted or bead blasted prior to powdercoating, this will be done by the vendor doing the powdercoating. The nice thing about this, if you have minor blemishes or scrathes on the wheels before powdercoating, once they are all done you will never know. Those paticular wheels on my Spa had a ton of surface damage, but had never been ramed into a curb, all 4 of the wheels cost me $235 and that included shipping to my front door.

Check this out, this is a pic of my 14" wheels...

These are powdercoated the same color as the 16" AP1 wheels, but these wheels go on my '90 CRX-SiR

I may do that down the road to change things up a bit later on.
