Default Power loss with silencers?

I want to get the Invidia single cat back exhaust system for my S. I've heard from a lot of people that it's a great exhaust, just really loud. So, if I decide to put the silencer in, will I lose a noticeable amount of HP if any?

If you're not loosing hp than the bigger exhaust wasn't gaining you any. The silencer is a restricter, there is no debate that it causes hp loss. Whether or not it affects your setup is the question. I agree about cruising though. No need for max hp day to day.

Yes, you'll lose a few HP. Driving around town this isn't really noticeable. What IS noticeable is the fact that you're no longer shouting over your own exhaust and law enforcement isn't watching you so closely.

My feeling is that you should leave silencers in for DD, and pop them out when racing.

I had a T1R system on my old Integra and it felt no different with the silencer in versus out. The butt dyno is not very reliable anyways.

Wink

I run the Invidia 70mm single with Invidia 70mm TP
Ive never considered putting the silencer in

From what I understand most systems only lose a couple horsepower but the butt dyno usually says different
