Default Power Shift Manual

I think I have a general idea of what a powershift is, but can someone give me a detailed definition of what it is exactly, and how to do it well?

I know someone in the purist-motorist s2k crowd will know...

Thanks

P

Well, I think it would be more accurate to say that you don't take your foot "completely" off the gas when you shift.

If you take the engine anywhere close to red line, stomp the clutch and shift gears without letting off the gas at least a little, you'll be mating pistons and valves in short order.

Just practice your shifting and you wont ned to powershift, its just a way of abusing your car.

I agree with ruexp67. You have to time it right, shifting a few hundred rpm's before redline with the gas pedal fully depressed. The only problem is the rear end getting sideways when you shift into 2nd gear. It causes a big grin on your face.

In the 3 or 4 times I've done this in the S, the clutch has slipped too much to keep doing it. Maybe my clutch is worn out (only 6K on it).
