Default Praise about Honda service

Dear all,

Because of all the Honda of America horror stories I hear, I thought I should post my extremely positive experience with Honda here in the Netherlands.

I have bought my S2000 in February 2001 in Detroit MI and imported it here in Holland at the end of the same year when I moved back. So I thought I would be S.O.L. when it would come to service and warrantee concerns. Boy, was I wrong!

First after the Oil Jet Bolts recall, which was only in Europe and initiated here in Holland, I talked to the Dutch Honda importer and they said I could take it to any dealer and have the work done absolutely for free, because despite it is a US car, I am driving it in European conditions. Of course also the spark plug recall was carried out. This all was done in the summer of 2002.

A few weeks ago I had my oil changed at the Honda dealership and I also talked about a slight whistling noise I had between 3000 and 4000 RPM with half throttle. (I thought it was taking in some false air). The mechanic who drove with me pointed out that it was the throttle valve and a not too uncommon problem with type-R vehicles.

Just today I had the part changed out by the Honda dealer as a warrantee item(!!!!!!!) Not because I am such a smooth talker, but because the dealer insisted to change the part as it was faulty. And after all, I 'still had warrantee' until February 2004...

Can you believe how thrilled I am about this exceptional and superb service? I FRIGGIN' LOVE HONDA!!!!

Well, that was my positive rant!!!

Ooohh, no luv for the Netherlands.

I figured it was close enough to Sweden, so they should have blonde babes in parkas. My geography may be bad, but whatever.

I live in just about the opposite climate.

...if not.....don't you dare ruin my mental image.
