Default Price Gougers...Read On...

A local Honda dealer here in Los Angeles...Woodland Hills Honda...has two '02 S2Ks coming in soon...at guess what price...

$10,000 over MSRP...

Which makes the sticker ~ $43,000 with NO OPTIONS...

The colors are both Black/Black

It's getting so annoying...I told the salesman "If you can't give it to me for MSRP, this conversation is over"

Of course, they laugh and say "I'll do my best".

My ass.

Scott Robinson Honda is selling their silver for about $5000 over.

Goto to Norm Reeves in Cerritos. They sell at msrp, but add on a few extras ($2500) such as cd changer, car cover, alarm, etc.

yoshi - who wants a bare bones s2k

I say look out of the State and I'm sure you'll be able to find one at MSRP or under. I got mine from Ohio, shipped. It ended up being $500 under MSRP...when I was looking in California I couldn't find a deal close to that...was usually 2-7 over MSRP.

That's such a ripoff. I doubt those guys are going to sell those anytime soon. I remember when I was looking for my car and they had prices like that. I just told the saleguy that if I wanted to spend that much money for a car, I would've just bought a Porsche. He told me that a lot of people told him that.

Look at other dealers. There are a few in So Cal that will sell you the S2K for MSRP.

You did the right thing. If every customer refused to pay over MSRP. . . . . guess what they would be selling for? Rip offs like that take all the value out of what Honda was trying to do. I would go out of state in minute.

I can't believe that they are still able to charge such a HUGE premium for this car...I got mine Oct 99 for 5k over sticker and got the front, rear spoilers, windscreen, and side strakes, wheel locks, floor mats thrown in!

Madness!!!

I don't know why people are so worried that their local dealers are charging so much. There are plenty of dealers selling for MSRP (some for under) and you can fly to almost anywhere in the US at the moment for a few hundred dollars. The drive home will also take care of the boring break-in period too.

Pasadena Honda will sell for MSRP -- and they have them in stock now. I paid $3,800 over there in 12/99 when there were waiting lists and huge dealer markups -- and they threw in side strakes and the wind deflector.
