I know you can only guess, but what do you think a low mile 2000 S2000 is going to go for in about 2 years. I really would like to buy one now but I decided to save up a really good down payment. The reason I asked about used is I really like the Silvertone Silver and would like to get that instead of the new Silver. Sorry I babbled Thanks
Mmmm...oh, 'bout $1M
... At least that's about the only price I'd be willing to let mine go fer!
In all honesty, cthree probably hit the target fairly accurately. Good luck finding a couple year old S2K with low miles, however!

In February, my car will be 2 years old with approximately 25,000 miles (I have 22,700 now).
Just for the heck of it, I went to the Kelley Blue Book website and got a value for my car with the current mileage and excellent condition:
$28,505 for dealer trade-in
$31,505 for a private-party sale
If I could actually get that, I'd be really happy.

$28k for 2000 S2ks with relatively low miles seems to be pretty standard at the moment. I think KBB figures are seriously out of date. I doubt anyone would pay $31.5k for a 2000 when new 2002s are available for not a lot more.
Working with a ballpark of 10% depreciation per year, a 2000 S2k will probably be going for $22k ish in two years.

Around here, there are plenty on the used market. I see the same ones in the Washington Post week after week. CarMax has 7 used S2Ks in their inventory.
I think for a car with 30k+ miles would go for around 25kish......maybe. Isn't Honda slightly increasing production?
It's natural for everyone to overvalue their car.

Why wait? 2000 S2000s "asking" prices are already falling below the 28k mark. New cars are now selling at MSRP probably everywhere except the west coast. A good used car with low mileage should follow the folllowing:
Your Price = MSRP - 20% per year old - ( # of miles x $0.15 per mile) if the car is over 6 months old.
Of course those who paid 40K for their cars may disagree.
Just a sample of what's out there.
