Default PRM INTAKE

for all of you that have the prm intake...does your intake ever bump your hood prop off of its mounting point and then start rattling on top of your intake?

it seems like everytime i give it too much gas the engine moves so much that the intake bumps the hood prop, then it lands on top of my intake and it starts to rattle making my car sound like a POS. lol...just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

looks like im going to get some hood dampers to solve this problem

The best way to solve your problem is by installing an ETD.

(Carefully!) watch the shift lever as you drive around. The engine and tranny move all over the place. The ETD fixes that in a big way.

I don't think that the shift lever moving around is any indication of whether the engine and tranny are firmly mounted...

I don't think it's the intake that's popping off the hood strut, when you rev, the intake moves down away from the strut. I have about .75" clearance between my PRM and the strut, no problems so far.

Yes the intake is still available, Gerry of PRM has been really helpful, I just got a backup air filter from him.

I don't think your engine mounts are the issue. It is maybe the installed PRM and OEM elbow that need a little securing
Here is a little info on an ETD
