Default PROBLEM FOUND: J's Intake with an aftermarket bumper

I've noticed some rattling sound coming from the engine bay after installing the Mugen SS bumper. Sometimes you can hear it at idle, sometimes you can't. But it gets louder the faster I go, when Vtec kicks in, it's just CRAZY RATTLING. It rattles so much that I can literally FEEL the vibration on the gas pedal. I'm like, Ben, WTF is going on. At the VERY VERY beginning, I thought it was an adjustment me and AJ PwR made to the....tighteners (???) [pic2 and 3] because it was rubbing against the hood.
(Here's how the intake looks)

And here's where we loosened the tighteners.

That was what we thought the problem was at the beginning. After pulling the whole intake out and putting it back in, the sound seemed to go away for half a day. Then what I wished wouldn't happen, happened again. The stupid rattling sound came back. We tightened it back to the way it was before, nope, didn't fix anything, the rattling was still there.
After thinking for a quite a while, I was asking myself, "Why does it get louder and louder when I go faster??".
FINALLY I figured it out. The way the intake DUCT get's held in place is by the shape of the OEM bumper. The SS bumper is shaped differently and causes the duct to vibrate when driving.

AHHHH I can't get the pic off J's website. But the way the duct is shaped is supposed to be flushed with the OEM bumper.

I know not a lot of people have this intake. But if anybody ever considers getting one, just remember that it'll have an unbearable sound if you have an aftermarket bumper. (Not lip, but bumper)

This thread doesn't mean the intake is bad or whatever, but I just wanted other people to be aware that this problem happened to me and can happen to someone else too.

Sounds like it's time for the Mugen intake. Good you found the noise.

ETA for the intake is 6 weeks....guess I'll either have to live with the sound or go back to stock for 6 weeks.

The intake SHOULD be reclear coated due to some rubbage in 4 areas of the intake. It didn't mess up the CF so then it's not deep, but deep enough to have left a mark. A quick clearcoat should fix the problem
SORRY GUYS BUT THE INTAKE HAS BEEN SOLD

PM sent.

I am curious on your impressions of the intake. People dont talk much about it, I think most just go Mugen in that price range, and I've never seen a dyno regarding it's gains.

Any more info?

Thanks
