Default Problem with stripped scews and screw holes

Hi I have an area behind the driver side seat here:

Item 5 where the left screw is severely stripped and most likely the whole aswell. I can get it out with the right tool but all my other screws come out nicely so I would like to get this fixed. I can get a new screw bit is it possible to replace the piece of metal that the stripped hole is from? and which part if so would that be?

Thanks.

Can't you just put an "Oversized" screw in it ??? The seat hook, covers it anyway !!!!

Once you get it out you will be able to see what's there. If it is a welded in nut you can take it off get a new one and JB Weld it back. It may just be a capture nut clip (open on one side and a nut on the other) and you can usually get those at the local hardware store's hardware area,

That screw can be taken out either with a phillips screwdriver OR an 8mm hex head. Is it stripped on BOTH?

i think it might be stripped on both. If I don't use a toque wrench I cant get it out. Imma but a new screw and see if that fixes it.

What are you trying to do? Just leave the screw out, or in? It shouldn't cause any problems whether it's in place or not.

Yea I know it wont cause problems but I don't like my stuff all beat up. I bought this car off some drunk and I want to have it all clean. I'm even replacing the jack box in the trunk because he didn't put the jack in right and forced it to fit in the middle ripping it up.

Basically I'm saying I'm a perfectionist and if I find some irritating flaw like that I want to get it fixed. The other passenger side screws come off FLAWLESSLY and it makes it that much more irritating.
