Default problems with 2000-2002 s2000's?

I'm going to be in the market soon for a new, daily driver. I'd love to have a used one of these, looking around $12,000. The majority are 02 or earlier. Are there problems with these? Thanks

Generally speaking, 00-01 model years can be more problematic than 02+. Read the FAQ to learn the differences, and as always, be careful and deliberate when shopping. There are always exceptions to rules of thumb.

My 02 has given me as much problems as my wife's new toyota. My brother-in-laws ford F150 has minor problems when he bought it new. All cars break down, don't matter what year, ifs its faulty/wear down over age(either your falut or factory at fault) its gonna break down no matter what. My advice would be to buy one in the best condition and fix it when it breaks down, every car fall into this catogory, thou honda has a better rep. as far as reliability goes

Enough.

Do some researching. Everything you could think of has been asked, answered, categorized, filed, written up (with pictures) and pinned to some part of this forum.
