Problems repainting silverstone parts
HI all,
I will get my front bumper and rear fender repainted but I remember seing posts saying that the silverstone color is really hard to match.
That's the reason I'm getting the rear fender repainted, it was previously repainted but the color does not match perfectly.
Any suggestion on the paint brand, I heard of Dupont Chrome (something like that)

Main thing here is to get a good paint. DuPont seems to do great for me. And an even better clear! With the silverstone, the clear can change the darkness of the color several shades. Use the nice clear to blend into other body panels and you'll never be able to tell.
It can be hard to match. Don't let the body shop paint it off the car (without blending ON the car later) Don't just drop off a bumper and expect them to paint it and have it match when you put it back on.
Find a good quality body shop and you should be fine.

BTW: My body shop specializes in ferrari and lamborghini... Good quality work!
Sebring is easier than Silverstone (though still not easy.)
If they are painting the whole body kit, why not just pay them to paint the whole car? By the time they blend up the doors, hood, fender, and trunk it's like 80% of the car. Just have them spray the whole car and get it done. Then you would absolutly no worries about paint match, or blend or anything.

That's nothing compared to matching Rio Yellow! I had mine painted due to an accident, and I suspect that because it's semi-translucent, pearl, metallic it was a tough one. It's not perfect, but I have learned to live with it, sigh.
it's not just silverstone that is hard to color match..... any metallic color is hard to color match.. however a good paint shop/body shop will be able to color match it relatively easy...
