There is a rumour going around that posts about the rumour that S2000 production will end this year will end this year. Anybody else hear this?

 

cthree... one of the salesmen at Pacific Honda here in San Diego mentioned to me that he had heard (didn't say from whom) that it was to be a two year car.

 

Yeah, i heard the rummor that the rumor was only a rumor, also that the rumor would end soon. That is the rumor at least!

 

Possible yes..probable no..

Honda as far as I know produces cars in a 4 year cycle before major changes.

I cannot recall them ever producing a car for less than that. It is possible they would produce it with minor changes for 6-8 years like the NSX.

Again this is all speculation and noone knows for sure.

I can remember when purhcasing mine in Nov '99 and hearing the same line from a salesman. I wanted to believe it was true but common sense says not possible.

 

Sales people will say almost anything to get you to buy the car. If it takes being a limited production run for you to buy it, then sure, he'll tell you that.

We'll probably just have to wait and see unless Honda releases that information.
