If this is not an April Fool's joke, sign me up. I think you will be getting alot of positive responses from this little product. If you need a beta tester...

it looks fantastic, and i admire the craftsmanship. my only problem is that i already have a hard time seeing traffic lights from a dead stop, and im sure this will make it even worse. now if it only appears to drop down further than the top of the windshield due to the angle of the picture, than this looks like something i would love to have.

Rick doesn't joke around (he is a well respected vendor around here)...
I wondered what happened to that development, it was very impressive. It's good to see you are back on this. I see one of the biggest stumbling blocks is that the shape of the case (and control positions) seem to change so much (even from mfg. to mfg.). Unfortunately I just purchased a Garmin streetpilot c550, otherwise I would be all over this. If you could just come up with a way to accomodate the different units.

Yes, on our web site.

The protoype will be carbon fiber, only because that's what I'm used to working with for this kind of thing. The actual product, if we can make it, will be injection molded plastic, and it will look like the stock piece, with the same texture molded in.

And no April Fool's -- I've been working on this for about two weeks and only got it to the point today when I could talk about it.

I'm so happy to hear this project has been revived.

Are you going to only offer these mounts in carbon fiber? The reason I ask is that I'm much more inclined towards the original mount you made that matches the OEM dash trim as opposed to the carbon fiber.

See my post above -- only the prototype for the mold will be carbon fiber. The adapter will match the stock rail.

I really like the look of the V1 mount, does the V1 also quickly unmount as well, or can it be hard mounted?

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that has trouble seeing lights from a dead stop, still adapting to that tiny issue. Hmm... might have to get a couple of vertibrae removed.. it would be worth it for this car.
