Pete's Turbo Life T-shirt makes sense, when I delivered the parts they were building a killer old school Turbo Porsche which was in the garage, it was beautiful, I was drooling over it. lol. So based on what they are doing to that AP1 with the ECU, can I assume that this means that if you want to upgrade to Hondata you need a MY 2006+, but if you go with the product that they went with, you can add that ECU to any MY?

I am not in the market to do so... I was just wondering if I am interpreting correctly...

 

Correct. The infinity is a standalone system, it replaces the OE ECU entirely with that box shown. Hondata flashpro reflashes the OE ECU with new settings and configs.

 

Yes and no.

In the video they are referring to Hondata K-Pro. It is a duel ECU that can be used on 00-05, but it requires switching out some sensors and your valve cover and can be quite expensive. Hondata Flashpro is different, it is for 06+ only and simply gives you the ability to reflash the factory ECU with your new tune.

AEM also makes another ECU, often referred to as Series 2, that can be used on any MY.

 

Funny that they lost horsepower on the dyno measurement after the mods...

What they said makes sense though... It's not just about horsepower, it's the entire package...power to the wheels is just one factor in the mix...

Still was funny though... The one guy predicted less...another predicted a 2 HP increase, and the guys were like "you think we're just going to get 2 HP from all this stuff" (yes, paraphrased, and from memory...I don't recall the exact interaction)...

 

This is a great show. The guys are informative and funny! I think its pretty cool that they took the worst S2000 they could find and turn it into a great looking car. I am curious how the ITBs will work. So far, it seems like a lot of work.
