Default Put it in 6th....

I've always owned a manual shift car. Now with my recent S2Y '03 I have 6 instead of 5 speeds. It suddenly reminded me of that scene early in the movie, I think it was "The Longest Yard" where Burt Reynolds was racing against someone who had no clue that Burt's car had a "6th gear" and they were neck and neck in 5th...when suddenly Burt looks over gives that Burt grin...and pops it into 6th and takes off.....classic!

Anyone have that same experience yet????? hehehehe

I'd almost be willing to bet that he had a 5 speed and was going against someone in a 4 speed. Sounds like one of his "Smokey and the Bandit" movies. I don't think there were any cars out then that had a 6 speed.

My car slows down quite a bit when I shift into 6th, as do all other cars with a logical gearing pattern.

I had a 76 T/A, like in the Smokie and Bandit movies...it had a 4 speed, can't remember if 5 speed was even an option back then, definatly no 6 speed in that car.

6th gear?!?! shoot, i rarely use 5th gear in my S much less 6th. i know i get shitty gas mileage, but to me 5th and 6th gear in the S is depressing...unless you're going 150mph.
