Has anyone tried this? I talked with a my cousin who owns a Supra TT and he says that alot of the supra guys use the oven to heat up the glue and pry the headlight housing open. They say as long as the oven is set below 200 degrees, the headlights should be ok and not melt. I was thinking of trying this...but want to check with you guys first...

I'm thinking of ways to do this easier, too. I haven't taken a look at the lights yet, but if the glue is sticky and pliable when heated, wouldn't it be hard when cold? Is there a way to cut through it with an exacto knife or dental floss or something, remove the amber, then heat it only enough to make the glue stick to itself again? Or better yet, just add a little more glue? Just brainstorming...

 

My point exactly DJ Qube. I am looking for a different route clear the headlights. I read all these post about people using heat guns, but distorting the housing. I may have to hold off for a little while and let my cousin experiment on his Supra headlights. I notice that the headlights on the supras look similar to the S2K in material.

 

Glue can't be cut. The glue is hidden "under" the plastic. It has to be heated to a great degree so that it can liquify. Once it is heated enough you will be able to see the glue seep out. That is the only time the trusty flat-head screwdriver will see any work (i.e. prying). Latez!
