Question..........
ok one of my freinds Gf's runs AutoX and we got into a argument about the Stook and honda's in autoX, she says they have no place in it and their slow, i came back by stating that the Stook and Type R are specificly built for AutoX/circuit type racing so we argued for a while and it ended up in a "well lets race and i'll show ya" type of standoff soooooooo... im stuck here trying to uphold the stooks integrity. now ive never AutoX'd before but i am a very capable driver. knowing how to respond to just about anything a car throws at me being a unexpected powerslide or something else without being supprised but im going to be racing on a track against either a porche or a audi dont know what models but i know there track cars. now the mods on my car consist of a supercharger, exhaust, and a stage 3 clutch (x brace and more mods comming soon) i have great confidence in the stook. so do i stand a chance against these track cars?
(oh and i belive she doesnt race AutoX but is taking lessons to get her lisence, so i might be racing her dad (the real track racer of the family))
any comments or pointers that might help?

you may be a "very capable driver" but there's NO substitute for seat-time in an autox. i see rookies in very capable cars (Z06s, rx-7s, etc.) get smoked all the time by better drivers in "lesser" cars (e.g. sentras, accords, etc.). given that you don't even know what car you'll be racing, or the skill-level of its driver, there's no way to know how well you'll fare.
in short, don't bet any money.
p.s. there's no such thing as an "autox license"
p.p.s. that chick is an idiot. tell her to look at the results for nationals last year. type Rs dominated GS and an s2k won AS (not to mention all the modded civics/CRXs that did well)

being able to handle a power slide is different from being able to take the turn fast and taking the correct lines.
the proof isn't "bragging". The proof is in the results that some of the real good guys do. For years first gen CRX's have rules CSP and are still hard to beat. It would appear that in AS, the stook is the car to have.
She might think the cars are "slow" because you often find those drag racers out in regional competitions taking a go at making turns.... But believe me, they are not slow.
Another example, Taz Harvey just recently piloted a 1.6 liter 5th gen civic coupe to a second place finish at the Speedvision world challenge. His opponents have things like ITR, 328's, 325's etc. Beatings out cars that have larger motors is a pretty big accomplishment... don't ya think?

Agreed on the points stated above. Also keep in mind, if you were to go into an autox, the supercharger would probably bump you into a Mod class, and you'd see very little benefit in it.
Some of the most capable cars out there, are the cars like Shing's CRX - its small, lightweight, and has all the necessities - especially autox tires.
The crowds at autox's are going to be VERY different from the arguments you are used to. Right now, you are in an argument about which cars will hold up the best. From my experience in autox'ing years ago - everyone was very helpful, exchanging secrets, being supportive, helping you out in particular corners and driving skills. For a local club autox, the last thing that the drivers really cared about were the actual cars out there, because they know to have the best time, its the driver and the car.
/my two cents.
