Default Question about factory front chin spoiler?

I am really wanting to add the factory chin spoiler to my S. But I am concerned that it will drag pulling out of my somewhat steep driveway. I think I remember reading on this site that the spoiler lowers the front another 5 inches? I have to pull out of my drive now at an angle. I have stopped at the lowest point and only have about 3 inches clearance.
Can someone tell me exactly how much this spoiler will lower the front of the car?

i think this was discussed in a recent thread...try a search? i recall that the factory chin lowers the clearance by 1/2 inch. it's not outrageously low - you just have to be patient and take driveways veeeerrrrrrrrry slowly. 3 inch clearance coming down the driveway is alot!

KT's Suzuka is correct. It only lowers it about 1/2 inch. However, you may want to consider getting one anyways. They are only around $350 from HandA accesories. Then you will be scraping the spoiler and not the bumper. Besides, it looks awesome. Totally changes the look of the front IMO.

I recall reading that the stock clearance is 4-4 1/2". The chin spoiler drops another 1/2" which will give to at least 3 1/2". Not much room for error.

OK guys, thanks for the info. it appears that only 1/2 inch is the answer and I have just ordered the spoiler.
I also agree that the Coastal Metals front grill is a must for improving the looks of the S from the front. I have the black powder coated on my 02 Spa Yellow.

Well thank you, I think the Sebring looks great. The spoiler is from Honda, to be specific it is from our board sponser HandA accesories. I did install it myself. Not hard at all, if you know how to turn a wrench and drill a hole you'll be fine. The front grill is from another board sponser, Coastal Metals Products. Axcilla (David McCune) is the owner. It is a great product. Fit and finish is top notch. If you click on the site sponsers link you will be able to find both websites. I believe the Grill is around $120.

my stock bumper is a little scraped on the bottom and just a tiny little bit on the front from parking lot run-ins and the like... it appears that the chin spoiler covers a little bit of the front of the stock bumper... is this so? if so, it'll cover up my little scrapes and give me something completely new to scrape up!
