Default Question about Honda MTF

Is honda MTF the some on all there cars or do we have a spcific kind for the S2000. I am asking because I am going to get my transmission fluid changed and I want to go to my local honda dealer to have it done but one time I went for an oil change and they put in 5W30 instead of 10W30 because all hondas (expect the S2000) take 5W30. I was kind of upset but I know putting in 5W30 in once wont really make a difference in my engines performance. Thanks

I switched from Honda MTF to GM Synchromesh FM about a week ago, have logged about 1k miles on it, and have found it to be far preferable to Honda MTF so far.

But yup, there's just one kind of Honda MTF.

It seems any time you change it to some fresh stuff, especially the first time, no matter the brand, it will help. I personally would recommend staying with Honda MTF fluid, it's as good if not better than most and it keeps your warranty in tact. Over the past three years it seems I have heard a lot of people saying they switched to the GM brand and liked it, especially at first, but over time I also have heard of several who switched back . . . so it is clearly not the long term fluid of choice for everyone. Any really long term user's who still swear by it?
