Question about painting your calipers..
I was planning to paint my calipers with the G2 paint. It comes with a high gloss finish. I was wondering if anyone has ever put more gloss on it for a shiner look or even tried to put clear coat on it. And how much heat can the clear coat resist. PIX would be helpful.
I painted my brakes with the G2 kit. Came out perfect. It's real glossy, you won't need any extra shine. It can resist a ton of heat. It's like epoxy, you mix 2 chemicals together, and once you do and it dries, nothing is taking it off. I have pix, email me at rob@robvolk.com and i'll send 'em to you.
One word of advice, the paint will dry once you mix it within 3 hours or so. i'd suggest mixing half at a time. the company did send me more paint for free, so props to thier customer service.

"Nothing will take it off"? I dare you to track your S2000 properly using the brakes as they should be used. I guarantee your bright shiny calipers will have blackened paint peeling off them like it's going out of style.
Painting calipers is for poseurs - it only shows you don't drive your car hard enough to get the brakes truly hot.

Not everyone here on this site uses their S2000 for the track, but I'm sure everyone on this site thouroughly enjoys driving their S2000.
You don't need to take the S out to the track and beat the hell out of it to enjoy it and push its limits. Also, there are 100's of mods that are purely for looks so lay off the guy. Personally, I like the mod and am thinking of doing it to mine too.

I've had my calipers painted with the G2 system for about 6 months now, and they're as shiny as the day I painted them (that is, when I clean the brake dust off). But I don't track my car, and I wouldn't doubt that there is a limit to the temperature the G2 system can take before it breaks down.
I am just shy of 11k miles on my G2 painted calipers and I love them. No I don't track the car and I DO wash the car very often. I just added caliper decals last weekend and upon complete examination of the calipers I was a tad amazed at how well the system held up. If I am now a "poseur" then so be it.
I would highly recomend giving thought to some grinding and sanding prior to the paint application. It's much work but the results are well worth it.
