Default Question about Seibon MG Hood

I tried searching for this but I couldn't find anything.

Anyways, is it safe to drive in rain with those vents in the hood?

If not, is there anyplace that I can buy rain channels for this hood?

Yes it is safe.
it is not SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! water and engine are enemy
they need to be away from each other as far as they can be......

when i had MG hood with my ARC intake.... it was directly exposured to the sun... and one day it started to rain and water goes directly into the air box which will eventually engine to suck the water and cause hydrolock........

so i put duct tape all over the air vent so water wouldnt leak into under the hood....

The vents are safe depending on setup. If your running the stock box it's pretty much safe. If your running a short ram depending on where it's located you should be ok.

If your driving the car in the rain you will be fine.
If your cars been sitting in the rain then it could become an issue if your intake is exposed.

As for water on the engine itself it should be fine.

The MG hood has raise venting so even when water gets on the hood it is channeled down the center and the outside and NOT down the vents.

The Top Secret replica is flush with the vents so it has more potential for water getting inside.

I've driven my car in the rain and then opened the hood and there wasn't any water inside. The engine heat pretty much dissapated the very little water that actually got inside.

Lay some towels over the vents. That's what I do.

Thanks for the replies!

I have a stock air box so I should be O.K. But is there any danger if water gets onto the battery?
