Default Question about towing s2000

I might be picking up a s2000 in the next few days, however i have to tow the car.
Its going to be a 300 mile trip, I was wondering if i will have any issues towing the car on a car dolly (only the front wheels will be on the dolly) the rear wheels will be rolling on the road!

Can i mess up something on the s2000?

The manual recommends only using a flatbed tow truck. I'd definitely spring for the extra charge (if any) for the flatbed.

if you've got a truck, get a flatbed to tow it with. Otherwise you will need to disconnect the driveshaft.

Yeah, i would get a flat bed too.. problem is my 4runner is kinda weak
I asked in the 4runner forums about towing a s2k on a flat bed.. and people say its possible but dangerous...

I dont want to find my self in the middle of nowhere with two cars unable to run

Got a friend who would trade trucks for the day? You could also rent a truck and a flatbed from u-haul or some other vehicle rental company.

dolly

flatbed

Think of the cost of the flatbed as cheap insurance. It's likely to be several hundred dollars, but nearly any damage that you would likely do the S2k would be more.

If cost is really that big an issue and you have access to something that will tow reasonable trailers, you can probably rent a full vehicle trailer if you look around.

the s actually runs, but its a theft recovery and its missing a lot of shit... (seats, bumpers, fenders..)

I think Im gonna take the risk and tow it on a flat bed with my 4runner...
with the temperatures being in the 60s (even in the 50s) i think the chance of transmission overheating are even less...

will keep you posted...
