Question for all Clutch gurus
Hey all I have 3 questions maybe you guys can help me with:
1) Will an upgrade in the clutch allow you to lauch better (ala slipping the clutch)?
I hate the stock clutch, I am always afraid to lauch the car even semi aggressively for fear of burning it. It's getting so bad that i am afraid to go toe to toe with civics and the like
2) Will having a beefier clutch create more pedal effort? I like the stock clutches lightweight feel.
3) Will upgrading the clutch have any affect on the differential?
4) i am about to go into the shop for the rattling clutch repair soooooo this maybe a good time to get a beefier clutch or lightened flywheel.....and comments suggestions?
Disclaimer: I know the stook is not a drag car. I just want to be able to slip the clutch and slightly chirp my tires without having to lauch at 6-8K and risk burning my clutch.
Thanks so much guys and gals!!
Bobby

give me a ring tomorrow (tuesday) or sometime this week and I can give you a better idea of what various upgrades for the clutches there are, and see if one fits your needs and driving style. randy 512.947.1729
but basically, to answer your questions briefly...
1. depends on friction surfaces chosen and clutch design
2. nope, an upgraded pressure plate would.
3. it depends how often you launch the car, not necessarily the clutch.
4. just give me a ring and I can tell you what is available and what I can offer as well as others out there.
