Default question for all you s2k owners

Hi, i'm new to this board, yes i know...What the hell an accord owner doin on an s2k board, anyways i was wondering....

How much are your monthly payments on the s2k?...

And how much did ya have to put down on the down payment?...

i MIGHT, when i turn 18 will be getting an s2k if anything...

But the only thing i dont like about it, the t/q the s2k has =, everything else i love it. I'm currently 17, paying 289 a month for my accord...so if ya dont mind, answer those 2 questions for me, thanx

The list of car i'm thinkin...

03 s2k
03 350z
04 WRX STI
03-04 Evo 8...

those are all 30'ish grand cars...

bank

Well. to tell you the truth, the best thing to do is to go to a auto loan calculator and play with it a bit. There are so many varibles that can affect payment. Two people can buy the same car and pay a $250 difference if one puts down money and the other doesn't and one has a percentage rate that is 4 points lower... etc. Estimate prices between $22,000 and $35,000 depending on if you buy new or used. The lowest percentage rate that your dad can qualify for is probably around 3.9% with Honda and that would be on a new car. A used certified Honda will give you a 4.9% APR at best. These rates can go well into the teens if the credit is bad, so that really just depends on your dad's credit.

Also, it seems to me like you are approaching the situation from the wrong direction. The question you should be asking yourself is how much car can you afford paying X amount of dollars per month. So what can you spend? Then work from there.

You'd have to put down a large down payment, pay off about $15,500 at 5% for 6 years to get payment down to about $250 a month.

Best investment...a financial calculator that can do loans. Works for car loans and house payments. Costs about $20-30. Lasts a long time. I don't know how long I've had mine. I use it for other stuff too. Then again, I think I bought it before the computer. There are loan calculators on the web too. bankrate.com is one. Start saving.

Wow, I wish my biggest problem when I was 17 was which $30,000 car to buy.

Tell me again, there is some sort of recession going on? Where exactly?

You guys have it too good!...

In the UK you'd have virtually NO CHANCE of getting insured on an S2000 at 18!

I just bought one, I collect it next Friday and I am sooooooooooo looking forward to getting behind the wheel.

su2ny, i do love my car...

its just the fact that its 17 sec fast, it doesn't have the exact power i need, and its a sedan...come on...

I could get he 15k payment fast i hope...

I could sell my current car for 9k'ish privately or 8k'ish trade in, then i would have the rest of my money from the bank, that i saved up. , and i'll be looking into the financial calculator.

And i think my dad's got a pretty good credit....i'm jusy guessing over here...lol

Thanx guys for all your info.

well well well...i'm 23 and i owns s2000.
I think Im still kinda young to drive this car.
well...It's not all abt the age...but...Im really happy with what I have I think Im the lucky one.
If u really want it... go for it.......S is very very nice car.
but if im in your situation. I will think about something else.
like "Type-R" or "Type-S".
still nice car & fast car (maybe even faster 1/4 if you put some mods and parts are much cheaper than s2 parts.)
Plus you dont have big payment every month.
for me i never buy stuff for finance.
too much interest + really annoying.....
well .... do what you wanna do...i just want you to make sure
S is what you really want .. be4 you buy s2000.
"once you go up you can't really go down."
hope you make good decision. good luck

Get the STi. It's a much safer car for an 18 year old to own with it's AWD. You don't want to jump into a RWD S before you really learn to drive one.
