Don't get me wrong, I love my S2K. I really love the tight suspension but my wife always complains that if there are ripples in the road the whole car goes up and down like a roller coaster. It is not bouncing like a car with bad shocks or springs, but it just follows every imperfection in the road. This is particularly true with longitudinal imperfections or seams in the highway.

Is everyone's car that tight and hard riding? Or is something wrong my car?

I always thought it was a symptom of the F1 heritage but there is always the chance something is not adjusted right???

Mine is very tight as well.

Not bad until I skip to the outside on fast turns.

 

Few things I would do

1. Check for spring spacers

2. Check tire pressure

3. Get an alignment

 

San Diego specifics -

The worst spots for me are the 94 W going into downtown
and the 5 N between the downtown S curves and Sea World exit.
The nose just bobs up and down, it makes me glad I have good "sea legs"

3. Alignment - hmmm this could be necessary the car has 19,000 miles. I've heard differing info on the proper alignment parameters, any suggestions?

 

My suggestion call up City Hall, the car is too perfect, it's gotta be the roads

 

Just because your car is new, doesn't mean that the alignment is up to spec. A good alignment shop will be able to tailor your car to your driving style. That will make a big difference in how you will view the car.

These are simply very "firm" or hard-riding cars- I think what you're experiencing is endemic to the species. It was rated as the "firmest" among M Roadster, Boxster, etc., by the mags, & I've test driven several now & have to agree. If it's any comfort, the awesome Z06 has similar characteristics (but isn't quite as bumpy). It comes as a down-side to the great handling.
