On first drive after installing the JR filter, about a mile into the drive, I came to a stop and the engine died. For the drive out (about 3 miles), the revs would drop to almost nothing after coming to a stop. On the return trip, it was better, but still idled lower than before. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have an explanation?

Did not experience what you describe after installing the JR filter. However, I've had an issue where sometimes when the car is warming up when you let it drop down to an idle the idle speed is low enough that the engine is sputtering and thinking about dieing. Mingster installed a special spark plug that he recently told me about that solved the problem for him. Hey Mingster, what are those plugs? I've been meaning to PM you and ask you that.

My idle has dropped too, but not like what is being described here.

I too, however, would love to know about the plugs... Richard?

My car is normal other than seeming more eager with the JR installed.

So what do you all think of your Denso plugs (those who installed them)? Do they help?

Richard - are these the ones?

The sputtering started before I had the filter, it had the same sputter AFTER I installed the JR filter. The solution was Denso's Iridium plugs, IK22 is the model I used. You'll need to gap it to .044 (it comes gapped to only .035 or so). Spoon uses IK24 for track, and IK27 for heavy duty racing, but if you don't track I don't recommend colder plugs. I used to sell them until Denso started squeezing their small dealers in favor of the larger distributors. http://www.densoiridium.com has a link for online ordering at 11.99 each.

I think these plugs are very good plugs, as the sputtering went away.
