Default Question for people who live in the city

I live in Los Angeles, and am looking to buy a Honda s2000 in a couple of weeks. I am 20 and have been driving stick shift all my life. However my only concern is if s2k drivers are happy driving with the stop and go traffic while driving manual or if they would have preffered Honda made automatic transmission available on this car. And how do you cope driving stick in a congested area like LA. Thanx for readin and thanx in advance.

the clutch is very light. Driving in stop and go traffic for me is tolerable up to about an hour or so. After that, I fell like redlining the car in every gear to let go of my frustration. It's not that hard to deal with, if you upgrade to a premium stereo system, and/or it's a beautiful day out.

If you live in LA...the traffic is horrible. Everywhere you go there is traffic...If its your daily driver you might get annoyed. I know I do.

I was worried also, but it is fine. I am on the 405 daily and have no problem, but i am used to it. It does get tiresome at times though.

I've gotten stuck in some relatively heavy traffic in Houston with mine. It doesn't compare to what you folks in Southern California put up with but it can be a pain nonetheless.

My issues with stop and go traffic have nothing to do with the manual transmission.

I think the best response to this is:
If you have to ask this question, perhaps you should find something with an automatic.

A torque converter automatic for this car is probably not feasible. Apparently, there are limits on torque converter rpm's. For example, the Mazda RX-8 has an engine that redlines at 9000 rpm. However, with the automatic, there is a 7500 rpm limitation, and a big decrease in horsepower (197 vs. 240). Once cannot rule out an automated manual transmission along the lines of a VW/Audi DSG gearbox. However, I would not hold my breath.
