O.K. doesn't actually stand for anything these days. First appeared in some newspaper as an abbreviation for "All Correct"--the joke being that neither the O or the K were correct

As for the "OK!" avatars, it just some pointless fad that's too stubborn to die. I used to be one of the poor bastards caught up in it, but Kristin Kreuk is much too hot to NOT have as an avatar!

 

I thought it was short for hOustooK...the Houston s2000 club. and alexf20c, your right, KK is too damn hot....god, I can't believe I tune in to Smallville just for her

 

How could ANYONE come up with that?!

Yes, it started on the Houstooks site, I didn't understand it either and chose to wait til it ended, I am still waiting.

No fads are ever "understood". Just go with it. I retired mine, though...it was fun while it lasted.
