Default Question for those with the T1R exhaust

For those with the T1R exhaust, how do you tolerate the loudness??? It is unbearable without the silencer in. All I hear is this incredibly low bassy sound from 1k - 5k which goes away at VTEC. It is so loud that I wore earplugs today!! Do I maybe have an exhaust leak somewhere, or should I have expected this? It is seriously insanely loud, and it really boggles me how anyone can stand it.

You must have a leak. Probably forgot to install the gasket or something. Although this exhaust is much louder than stock, I do not think it's unbearable at all. It drones a little bit at about 3k RPM, but at 70mph on the highway, it's barely noticable.

I had it done by this local shop because I couldn't get the damn cat bolts off...Anyway, I tried checking for a leak this morning and I'm not sure if there is or isn't. I put my hand around where the cat hooks up to the res piping but I"m not sure if its leaking. The gasket seems a little "irregular". I"m not sure if its a perfect seal. Is there a better method to checking for leaks?

One more thing...do you guys hear a very low frequency boomy noise at low revs? It sounds like I have 2 12" subwoofers in my trunk.

I have one on my car, and it drones at low RPM's. It does sound good when I step into it though. Are you in LA - Louisiana ore Los Angeles? If you're in Los Angeles we could compare, although I have an 04.
