Default Question: VGS vs non-VGS steering wheel.

Here's a picture comparison of the back of the 2 steering wheels: (you can tell the right one is the VGS because of the 2-tone rim.)

I'm no expert, but it doesn't look like there's any external difference between the 2 wheels at the back?

So there is probably an internal difference. Anybody with an idea of what it might be? Here's a pic to show. (ignore the orange circle and the arrow)

Thanks in advance.

I know you are serious. But I clearly see a difference between the two. Someone needs to get their eyes checked. There is clearly a third notch.

Oops! New glasses needed for sure!

But anyways, so if that's the difference, if I have that piece (without the notch) made and replaced on the VGS steering wheel, would that be enough to get it to fit?

....would that work if you replaced the hub on a VGS wheel with the hub from a non-VGS wheel?

That notch alone wouldn't prevent the VGS SW from fitting on a non-VGS column. There has to be an internal difference. Possibly a slightly smaller column shaft diameter.

I wanted a VGS too but was quickly discouraged when I was told it would not fit. If there is an easy way to make it fit please let us know!
