Assuming the car is in good shape it's fair. I'd try and go 16 due to the high miles.

You may want to make sure it's not just running lowering springs or the shocks may be prematurely worn too.

I paid 16,800 for mine with 44,000 miles. Your potential car is one year newer than the one I purchased. It's really up to you. Do you want those modifications on the car, or do you want a stock one with fewer miles?

car around here ( FL ) from dealers with 55 - 70k miles are like 18,00 and up ( without tax and dealers fees) now from private seller are like 40 - 70k miles for 17,00 and up

i had another deal for a 2000 with 42k miles and the car was stock, but i ran carfax and it was involved in 2 accidents =/

So the prices around here are not that great =/ ( don't know what to do)

If you don't mind the mods and the car checks out ok, then go for it. If you're on the fence, just wait it out and the right car will come along. There are several S2000's available in the atlanta area from time to time in the 15-17K range from private sellers. Check out www.autotrader.com

i will check out the car tomorrow, and if the cars look ok, i will take the car to a local mechanic or to the honda dealer for a full diagnostic

Never judge a book by its cover..... Well at least for a car you have to read the fine print.

Check all the VIN# on the body panels and make sure they match.
If they have done any major work/matainence Recipts?
Do all the body lines match up well?
Signs of overspray?
Since its an MY01 did the owner have all the TSBs done?
Check the top for bad wear spots.....

From the pics the car looks pretty nice, but I cant check all the things I listed by looking at that picture. Most of all be patient and shop around, the longer you can wait and shop smart the better deal you will get.
