Default Quick info,USPS delivery to Canada...

Quick info,specially from Canadians guys.
Don't want to say "scammed" right now;but ordered some parts from a fellow member, who shipped them via USPS,15 days ago, didn't receive anything yet.
He told me (PM),the clerck at the post office, said it could take between 2,and 5 "WEEKS",from CA.to Quebec city.
Does that make sense to you ?
Also gave me a tracking #,that does not work.!

First off, USPS tracking is terrible, don't trust it. Also, it can take some time for items to go through customs. My side-markers were shipped from AJR up there, they were small items in an envelope and still took a week. Anything large and in a box that requires an import tax will take signifigantly longer. I'm not sure if there's anyway to call USPS to get more info or not.

Ship Fed-Ex!

I send TO the USA all the time. The delivery times are complete crap. The delay is in the Canadian system, not the USA.

I send two small packages to the USA (3" square, less than 1 pound) for me to put a signature needed to the USA on that package through the Canadian Post office, buddy quoted me like $45.00+

Yea, over forty bucks.

And here's the kicker... They can't say whether I can see/prove delivery.

SO I throw 4 bucks of stamps on them and they take two weeks +

So I'm not sayng the tracking doesn't work, I'm saying if it's connected to a Canadian address all bets are off IMO. Have him check your number again... Check how you entered it...

I think postal service between these two countries blows hard.

I get stuff sent from Spokane to Windsor all the time and it take forever. I wouldn't get too excited yet. Give it a bit.

I can believe this. Depends on what the shipment was and how it was described. Canada Customs can sit on stuff for weeks. Also, Canada Post doesn't expedite customs clearance nearly as efficiently as a higher paid transport company like FedEx or Purolator. But then, CP doesn't charge and arm and a leg for brokerage, either.
I had a box of chocolats send to me by postal service. It took almost 2 months. By the time I got it, the package had been opened and not re-packaged very well AND pieces of chocolat were missing. Canada Customs ..................

On the CAPS, I was told by my local postmaster, that CANADA requires it to be in all caps and can refuse to deliver it if it is not. Go figure.
We CANNUCKS can be LOUD, but not sure about this one.

Another UPS boycott member. Any other carrier (non postal) will get it to you in a similar time frame and the brokerage will be so much less.
