Quick marketing poll: Packaging
I've been approached by a box company wanting to do some business. They are willing to help me design custom looking boxes (with graphics and words, etc.) for our products (Mingster's X brace, CAI duct, aeroscreen, etc.). My question to you guys are: would you care what the box (packaging) looked like? Of course cost would be slightly higher (about 10%-15% per box), and that cost would most likely be passed down to the consumers.

That said, if you are looking to market to a broader audience, such as retailers, this may be worthwhile.
But I for one don't want to pay extra for a fancy box.
I second that. I'm waiting for a check to come in next month so I can go shopping on your site. I'd rather the quality work be inside the bx then on the outside. BTW I work in advertising... If you're going to start having stores stock your parts, then go for it, for us, don't bother.
So long as the parts operate correctly and do what i bought them for, I could care less about the packaging, which I throw away anyways.
Later when the Mingster Brand becomes an issue, then packaging becomes a valid way of allowing consumers to identify your parts, but as one said, pretty packaging for us? don't bother.

Richard, pretty graphics that look great are designed to catch your eye on a shelf full of similar products (grocery store), but in your business the product speaks for itself. Save your money.
