quick question?
a buddy of mine came across a 2003 Touring 350z with 25k on it. We checked it out and noticed some little mods, exhaust, spoiler, and rims and tires. Then we popped the hood and found a vortech supercharger with intercooler setup. Its on a dealers lot and he tried to work something out. They came to an agreement at $27,8xx. Do you think that this is a great deal???? All the parts alone cost around 10k easily.
*sorry just realized i should've posted this in car talk

bad deal, when you put aftermarket parts on a car they basically are throwing money away
the only way to attempt to recoup some losses is to revert to stock and part out
i would never buy this car
buy a clean non-modded one if you really want a 350z

he bought the car and got the powertrain warranty extended until 60k, including the supercharger. the car only has 24k miles on it and the bluebook on the car in stock form was 25k. he got some really nice axis deep lip rims with brand new rubber, a vortech supercharger with intercooler, stillen exhaust, and k & n intake for another 2k!!! Out the door the car cost him 27,117!
i'm not really a fan of 350s at all, but this is a whole different beast. all the work was also performed at the dealer that took the car in on a trade and the reciepts were included with the ride. how can this not have been a steal?

#2 the Car blue books out at low 20's (but nobody really goes by bluebook anymore anyways)
#3 all those parts means they drove it hard before trading it in. Think about it, why would they trade it in without parting out all those expensive parts. They know something that you dont (and they like it that way)
My friend got a "great deal" on a supercharged, type s swapped civic SI with like 10k+ in mods and it turned out it needed a motor rebuild shortly after he bought it. which ended up costing a LOT.
