quick question
I havent been driving my s2000 for about 3 weeks or so. The trans is making clicking sound when I shift, so I stopped driving it. since then I been trying to save some money so I can take to a trans shop and let them look at it. Anyways my question is.... the car is in the garage with the top down. should I close the top or just leave it like that? thanks
I don't really know if it makes a difference one way or the other...personally, if it were going to sit for a while...I would just close the top to keep bugs or little critters from setting up shop in there. Probably not likely to happen, but better safe that sorry.
Is the noise coming from the transmission or from the rear end. It could possibly be the differential. How many miles are on the car? It could need a diff fluid change or it could be an axle nut (I think there is a TSB).

well i guess i'll just leave it open...the car is a 03 w/ 130000 and as far trans goes.. i replaced the fluid with honda MTF and I replaced the diff fuid with le1605. my mechanic raised up the car while i was sitting in it and he told me to drive it. so I was going through 1st, 2nd, 3rd while he listnened. he told me told me either my trans fluid is low or my trans is completely gone and i should replace it. although the car shifts fine, except for the "click" noise. also the car was turboed b4 by the previous owner so maybe the trans couldnt handle all that power.

it clicks all the time or only when you shift?

The S2000's diff isn't notorious for being strong. Especially with that many miles on it, maybe its time for a replacement.
Especially if the car was turbo'ed before too... you hear more about blown diffs than transmission problems with FI. I would look into the diff.
