I've seen a lot of light colored s2k's with their lower rear lip in black (runs between exhaust cutouts)..I was wondering how this is done..is it paint or is it a different style lip?

 

I had an exhaust cap on my ap1 rear bumper made of carbon fibre, purchased it from GT Motoring, some other companies make exhaust caps too, not sure if that is what you were seeing or not but it sounds similar.

 

yeah man thats it, thanks...I understand the functional purpose of it is to cover an unused exhaust cutout, you think they made/make one that has both dual cutouts? haha I just like the look of it on my GPW

 

All AP1's have black exhaust cutouts that extend between both cutouts.

 

Yeah the ap1 rears come stock with that peice black. Like stated above you can also get carbon fiber ones, or normal covers to cap it off so it looks like a single exit rear. You can also get carbon covers that have the dual cut-outs so it's just like stock, but carbon fiber.

 

I have an ap1 and mines white haha...possibly painted white or removed the tape or whatev was on it? no idea

 

@ OP... ap1's have a black pice that runs between the exhaust as mentioned

@S200000: It is just black plastic, yours must have been painted
