There are a few types of spray high temp paints out there. Rust-o-leum makes two colors Flat black and Aluminum that can be cooked to 1000 degrees F. Sprayon has a few colors to choose from the ones that I knaw are White, Black and Aluminum Sprayons Hi-temp paint can withstand as much 1200 degress F. The problem with using the spray type high-temp paints is they do not have the impact or abraison resistance that a true brake caliper paint does. (Paints that require baking) The baked on type are of the powder coating family of paints and have the best resistance to impact or abrasion. If you do not mind painting your calipers on a regular basis to keep them looking nice go with the spray on type, but if you want them to look good for a long while spend the extra dough and time on the quality kits. I will be investing in one of these kits in the near future, I think Rick sells a quality kit but I could be wrong.

I used the G2 system and it was easy and looks great. Takes about 2 hours and no baking. $35 total! Try g2usa.com.

Has anyone ordered the folia tec kit from somewhere online? If so, could you post where? It looks like you just tape up around the brake and paint it, is that the only prep work you have to do?

No, I got some small wire brushes to clean off any rust/crud. then I used the spray on brake cleaner (it comes with it). Then you are ready to mask/paint. As with any painting project, surface prep is essential and determines how good it will look in the end.
