Default Quick Question about center console

I have an '03 , and the little black leather piece of the center console that you rest your elbow on has shrunk up in the sun, and torn away from the plastic. My dealership is ordering me a replacement piece today... here is what I need to know. Will they just replace the little black piece (is it a seperate item?) or will they replace the whole center console? If they replace the whole center console, does the '04/'05 center console snap in to place perfectly, or is there modifying to be done? If it has to be modified, the dealership won't order that piece and replace it under warranty. If it is a direct swap, I will phone tham back right away, and get them to order an '05 center consle to replace my '03, since it will be the same cost for them.
Please help ASAP, so I can get in touch with my dealership before they order the part.
Thanks

I believe the perforated leather arm rest is a seperate piece and the dealer will just replace that. I recently saw another thread on this issue.

If you want to replace the entire center console with one from an '04-'05 it will work but cost is about $400 from www.hardtopguy.com.

they probably wont replace it under warranty in place of your 03 console - doesnt matter if the cost is the same - they have to replace like part number with like part number.

The thing is one piece. Same thing happened to mine and they were going to have to order entire console. I found a good one for sale on the for sale forum and went that route.

Don't know about the direct swap.

Also they need to do this TSB Raised arm pad

I just fixed mine tonight and it sits down flush now. They may warranty the hole replacement for you if you can attribute the wear to this.

oh man, mines an 00 and still perfect with lots of driving. Just make sureyou take good care of it cleaning and conditioning wise. As a matter of fact I just spent an hour detailing the interior of my s2k with wipes and polish. Man the interior gets soooo dirty/dusty!!

Thanks man,
The back right corner of the console did pop up. It was like that last summer, and I told them about it, and they replaced the piece (under warranty). Shortly after it was replaced, the corner started popping up again. I would push it down, and it would stay down for a few seconds, then pop back up again (more frequently, and stuck up higher when the weather got hotter).
I will print off the bulletin and take it to the dealership when my new console arrives next week, and get them to take care of this problem.
Once again, thanks for the link, I would have never known about this... I thought my car was the only one that had this problem.
