Did that ever come to light? I knew someone was talking about it, but I never saw pics or anything.

OK, you've thought about it long enough. Here's my take on it:
If I were Honda's lawyer, I would make sure stuff like this appears somewhere in the owner's manual. Why? Yeah, we all know that we can only operate the top when the hand brake is pulled, right? Well, we also all know that this has been defeated by a few owners. Well, what if one of these owners got into an accident or somehow caused an accident by operating the top while moving? I'm sure that in the "land of litigation", someone would name Honda in a suit. Well, Honda would just come back and say, "We have written in the owner's manual that the engine MUST be off before operating the top." So, if the engine was off, how can the car have been driving down the road? CASE DISMISSED!

ps. I normally operate the top with the engine running just to save on the battery juice. It may not make a big difference until my battery is getting near the end of its life span. Never-the-less, I'd like to help it out as often as I can.
