Default Quiet exhaust

I am waiting to take delivery on a 02' Suzuka Blue S2k. I been hanging out in this forum for awhile since I knew that one day I would own one of these great machines. I tried the search function but did not come across what I was looking for so here it is......

I need to know what kind of exhaust are you guys running and is it loud. A friend of mine is running Comptech with a CAI(AEM) and I think it's just a tad too loud. Maybe I am getting old but I could definitely live without the loud noise. I do want a deep rumble but not obnoxious. Thanks for helping out a newbie.

Keep the stock exhaust.
Aftermarket exhaust doesn't really add much power to the system, so you would only buy them to change the sound (most often making it louder)

IMHO I think the stock exhaust is fine if you don't want the loud noise. It has a nice quiet rumble at idle and is actually fairly loud after VTEC when you tromp on the pedal...but isn't overpowering...if you want significant increase in sound get a CAI and new exhaust, if you want just a little noise but no headaches, keep the stock...

I have the HKS Hiper Exhuast with the AEM intake...
First few hours seemed too loud...now its not loud enough!

But yea...you're after quiet...the Mugen One should be the most quiet of the aftermarket...mega $$$ though dyno proven no extra power...but there is tons of weight savings!
Or like Doc said...I dont think you can go much quieter than Stock...

I'd suggest the Neuspeed stainless-steel cat-back exhaust -- low, 'bass-like' rumble but not obnoxious/annoying at all. I'm not sure about HP gains, but it is much lighter than the stock setup.

I used to have one, but decided to swap it out for the Spoon N1. But if noise is an issue for you, I'd definitely stay clear from the single-outlet set-ups like Spoon, Amuse etc.

Thanks guys. I been hanging out in this forum for awhile and I am quite impressed with the help you guys give.

I did want an aftermarket exhaust to reduce weight but after listening to some of you I will consider just leaving it stock after I check out that neuspeed system.

Thanks.

wlfsmith,

Where in CO are you located? I have a Neuspeed exhaust. We are having a dyno day this Sat. Check out the Rocky Mountain Section.
