Racing Hart Wheels
SilverSurfer,
If your wheels are 18x7.5 +48mm and 18x8 +50mm, I guarantee that you will not rub with 215/40/18 and 245/45/18. But, you are going to loose some tread width. If the rubbing insn't that bad...just stick with the 225 and 255's...I like those sizes.
The problem with 215/40/18 and 245/45/18 is that you will not be able to find many tire manufacturers that makes those sizes. I had to mix and match my tires. 215/40/18 = Yokohama Parada; 245/35/18 = Toyo T1-S.
Falken Tire makes the two sizes (215/40/18 & 245/35/18) in their 451 tire though. I found a site that sells them pretty cheap:
http://www.vulcantire.com/451_t.htm
The tires on my 18's are for daily driving (wet weather), so I might give the Falken's a try next time around.

This is more work than I thought. I hope I can run my stock wheels for the meet.

I had the C2s which looked really good, but the Fikse's are even nicer (cost a tad more, though). On the other hand,
FIKSE GUARANTEES THE FIT
When I had my problems, I was talking directly to Dazz. In the end, Dazz didn't feel that they could guarantee the fit and took the wheels back and gave me a full refund. There were other factors involved that I won't go into here, but they do not normally do this - their policy is once the tire is mounted the wheel is yours.
From my experience, unless you are ready to do a LOT of homework to be sure you have the correct offsets, I would go with a wheel where the distributor or dealer will guarantee the fit.
FWIW, I also talked to Fikse directly before I got those wheels. The guy I talked to said if they are unsure about a fitment, they get the dealer to make measurements directly from YOUR car and they use these measurements to determine fitment.

Hey man, call Dazz they'll tell you what offsets will work for your car. Don't expect to be putting 18x9" Racing Harts on an S2000 though, they tend not to make high offsets in anything wider than 8". Racinghart wheels don't fit the greatest on our cars. Too bad, cuz they make some awesome looking wheels.
